WELCOME TO the Rock Candy web site. It has taken quite a while and we wanted to thank you for being patient as we slowly but surely tweaked and adjusted the content for maximum impact. Sadly it was impossible for us to launch this part of our operation earlier for numerous reasons (some far too ugly for print) but we take full responsiblity for our actions and hope that this portal will become the definitive Rock Candy central HQ.
As you probably know our label has been fully functional for about two years, since late 2005 actually, and we’ve already issued several fine titles with many more to come (see below). Indeed, 2008 looks like they’ll be bumper years for RC’s ambitious expansion programme with a number of fabulous titles either being readied for release or available right now - all personal favourites of ours and hopefully of yours too.
And, just in case you don’t know, Rock Candy Records is a label focussing on the re-issue (on Compact Disc) of vintage hard rock, glam rock, southern rock, melodic rock & AOR releases from the 70’s, 80’ & 90’s.
Set-up by former Kerrang! journalists Dante Bonutto & Derek Oliver, it will leave no stone unturned and no avenue unexplored in its quest to reactivate some of the world’s greatest rock album – albums that STILL sound like winners this side of a new millennium.
Re-assuringly, and wherever possible, all releases are undertaken in close consultation with the artists & their representatives; they are remastered from original sources by back room boffin Jon Astley (the Who, Eric Clapton, Judas Priest, etc) and contain 16-page full colour booklets with original & enhanced artwork, additional photography, clippings, memorabilia etc. Attention to detail is second to none, especially when it comes to the accompanying sleeve notes, which are approx. 4,000 words in length and written by a selection of influential rock journalists with a history in this area and a story to tell.
With a total of 39 releases already under our belt and several more to follow (check out the news page) we aim not only to please and tease but also to continue convincing our customers that investing in any of our releases will bring rewards of an altogether supernatural kind. Because you haven’t heard the music doesn’t mean you shouldn’t throw caution to the wind and investigate further. And don’t forget that all of our reissues have been thoroughly tried and tested by the experts of ROCK and have been proudly passed as top class examples of a genre that refuses to die. It is indeed a pleasure to prostrate ourselves at the feet of such magnificent music and we look forward to supplying more of the same for, hopefully, years to come.
Coming soon…
May 19th 2008 will see three more releases - all classic AOR outings from three of the best acts of the period…

Desmond is renowned as one of the best songwriters for hire but back in
1979 he was the leader of this superb AOR band out of NYC.
Eric Martin ‘I’m Only Fooling Myself’ CANDY037 Arguably the greatest voice in melodic rock.
Touch ‘S/T’ CANDY039. AOR legends fronted by the raspy vocals of Craig Brooks. Contains some of the greatest AOR anthems of all time.
